Reformation Dissolution

TrinityPastor+MrsDear Friends of Trinity ,

On Sunday, September 21, following the Divine Service, we held our quarterly meeting of the Voters’ Assembly of Trinity Lutheran Church. At this meeting the voters present unanimously (with the abstentions of Pastor and Donna Hering) passed the Council’s recommendation of a closure date of 31 October, 2014 for the dissolution of the congregation known as Trinity Lutheran Church in Layton, Davis County, Utah. Our final worship service will be the regular Divine Service on Sunday, 26 October with the rite of closure preceding the final Benediction. This will allow a few days for final disposition of property remaining on the premises. Please contact me if you think you or someone you know might have a use for such things as an electronic or digital organ, pews, padded chairs (folding or stacking), secretary/receptionist desk, portable sound system (Peavey), paraments, communion ware, etc. I will post pictures of these things below.

My family and I plan to remain here in Utah until God calls me to serve elsewhere, or until the need for employment dictates otherwise. First Lutheran Church in Tooele, UT has indicated they would like to continue receiving my services as their vacancy pastor. Our Circuit Visitor, Rev. John Manweiler, is working with the Rocky Mountain District office to facilitate that. Depending on how that is structured, the Hering family will either transfer to Cross of Christ, Bountiful or First, Tooele.

Thank you all for your friendship, support, and prayers through the years.

Your appreciative servant of the Word,
Pastor Hering
